A Growing Movement of Service

Every September, the 9/11 National Day of Service and Remembrance encourages Americans to serve their local communities as a way to honor those lost on September 11th. Through platforms like 911day.org, JustServe, AmeriCorps, Points of Light, and Create the Good, the movement continues to expand. Polymule’s home town of Park City, UT, saw a jump in participation from 900 in 2024 to nearly 1,200 in 2025. Families and individuals gathered across the city and surrounding areas to work on dozens of local service projects. They represented a variety of service groups, schools, and church congregations.

Hitting the Highway

In both 2024 and 2025, the Polymule team and their families spent the National Day of Service picking up trash and clearing debris along local highway 80 and Swaner Nature Preserve.

As trash bags began to fill and pile up, they used Polymule carts to carry trash, tools, and additional trash bags. The carts were a perfect match. The large wheels and high ground clearance helped volunteers, navigate steep ditches, gravel shoulders, and tall brush. The no-flat tires had no problem with sharp debris and broken glass.

The Value of Giving Back

Taking part in the highway cleanup was a great way to put our carts to work while spending time with family and giving back to the community. We hope it encourages others to grab a cart, gather some friends, and find a way to serve in their own communities.
