Facing Limitations, Finding Solutions

When the devastating wildfires swept through Los Angeles in January 2025, our first instinct was to get on the ground and help with the recovery. However, due to strict safety limitations on who could enter the disaster zone, we quickly realized we wouldn't be able to directly join the clean-up efforts ourselves.

We had to pivot, looking for the next best way to make a meaningful impact: equipping the people doing the heavy lifting.

Putting Tools in the Right Hands

We partnered with the LA parks department to donate 31 Polymule Warrior carts to the community.  We spent the day at Stoner Park, handing them out to individuals, couples, and families—anyone who needed a reliable way to haul debris, salvage belongings, or move supplies as they faced the daunting task of rebuilding. They shared tragic stories of loss due to the fires, but also told us how much the community had come together to help one other.

We are confident and hopeful that the carts are helpful in their own small way to clear debris, salvage treasured belongings, and assist with rebuilding the area. While we couldn't cross the line into the disaster zone, seeing our carts go directly into the hands of such resilient people was incredibly moving. It was a profound reminder that the path to recovery  empowering the community to work together to rebuild.

A Special Thanks

We want to extend a sincere thank you to Donyale Hall and the City of Los Angeles Emergency Operations Center. As we toured the facility in downtown LA, we were floored by the dedication and resources of that department to quickly navigate the changing environment of this kind of disaster. We are deeply grateful for their guidance and support in making this effort a reality.
